Group photo of Choir in front of Christmas Tree at Ely Cathedral - 3 January, 2026

As singers we come from all sorts of backgrounds, including former Cathedral choristers, members of Oxbridge College choirs, and others who just enjoy singing. Our ages range from 30 to 80+

We encourage new members. No audition, just a keen interest in making music and contributing to the worship of our church.

We sing church music from the 16th to the 21st centuries. Some examples of music we have sung in the last year or so:

  • If ye love me - Thomas Tallis
  • Short Evening Service - Orlando Gibbons
  • O for a closer walk with God - C V Stanford
  • Requiem - Gabriel Faure
  • There is no rose (from Ceremony of Carols) - Benjamin Britten
  • Star Carol - John Rutter

In a bit more detail, if you have some choral singing experience and are willing to commit to attending Friday evening rehearsals (19:00-20:00) then you will be most welcome. We sing once a month (second Sunday) at the Parish Eucharist at 10:15 on Sundays, each of which is preceeded by a short rehearsal at 09:30.
